We’re the Lloyds.
For the last seven years, our home in the Kathmandu Valley has been the center of everything we do. We open our doors to students, interns, family, and friends — and it’s in our living room and around our table that we’ve seen healing, growth, transformation, and the proclamation of new life.
Our home is our ministry. Right now, we’re a household of 15.
We moved to Nepal as a family of ten, but this Fall our third son is moving with his wife to the US and our oldest daughter is headed to university in Virginia.

We’re woven into this neighborhood.
We’ve celebrated a grandson’s coming-of-age with a local shop owner, vacationed with our friends who own our favorite local salon, and shared dinner in the home of another business owner down the way. We’ve spent afternoons with the owner of the bakery around the corner, and the sari shop just past it is where Tiff and the girls go before every wedding. We’ve become regulars at a little café run by a former employee, and honestly, we know nearly every shop and restaurant owner in the square by name. Our involvement in the community is the kind that turns a quick errand or an evening stroll into a long conversation, a cup of chai, or an invitation to dinner.
We own and run a company in the neighborhood too.

Our freedom business
We own and operate BECOME.
Outside of our home, we run a freedom business. Several of us pour our days into teaching, discipling, and working at the Training Center. We’re passionate about seeing women walk out of exploitation and into dignified, dependable work.

Every number is a person with a name we know.
Freedom work isn’t only rescue, it includes prevention, restoration, and a future. Our students’ backgrounds inform how we design our programs and teach our courses.
- Sex-trafficking survivors — 30 (18%)
- Labor-trafficking survivors — 4 (2%)
- Abuse / exploitation survivors — 29 (18%)
- Enrolled preventatively — 57 (35%)
- No known exploitation — 44 (27%)
Freedom isn’t just a job, it includes dignified and ethical employment.
Our team includes women who once sat in the student’s seat. 2 in 3 of our staff come from vulnerable or exploitative backgrounds. We don’t just hire; we provide opportunity and build careers.
And we measure pay differently: salaries are benchmarked against the full household living wage for a family of four — roughly double Nepal’s minimum wage — because most of our staff are their household’s sole earner.
It’s a family ministry.
Our daughters work at the Training Center teaching English, leading Bible study, and helping run Monday Morning Movement. Tiffanie spends time discipling both staff and students, and Stephen leads the boys’ small group and invites our male students to share life with him beyond the classroom.
On Thursday afternoons, Tiff, our older girls, and a few of our staff head out into the community, walking and praying together and meeting whoever God places in their path.

The work keeps growing.
Registration continues to increase each term.
To build long-term financial sustainability, we’ve begun producing and selling goods through our tailoring center, which will let us create more job opportunities. We’re finalizing a manufacturing contract for pillow inserts and another for rag dolls. We’ve also developed a small product catalog, and are actively seeking new sales opportunities to keep this momentum growing.

There’s always room for more.
At the Training Center our classrooms are filling up. At the house every room is occupied. And every year at Christmas we fill the living room with students, staff, and friends from the community to celebrate together and to share the gospel.
Opening our home remains at the heart of what we do.
